The story of Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa is one of vision, revitalization, and a deep commitment to the historic community of Perth, Ontario.
In 2010, three local families—the Brownlee, Hinton, and Saumure families—purchased this well-known local spot with a shared vision of creating a hotel in the heart of downtown Perth. Their goal wasn’t just to renovate a building, but to craft a space where visitors and locals could gather, relax, celebrate, and connect with the vibrant downtown community. Thanks to their dedication, investment, and the support of local tradespeople, Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa officially opened in 2011.
Brent and Avis Brownlee, alongside John Hinton—active members of the Perth business community, with a deep belief in the town and its people—continue to lead the hotel’s growth and long-term vision. While the Saumure family moved on to pursue new ventures, their contributions helped lay the foundation for the hotel’s ongoing success.
Today, at the heart of Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa experience is General Manager Tanya Jamieson—a true hospitality powerhouse. Tanya has not only helped shape the hotel’s welcoming culture, but has also led the team to exceptional standards of service and guest satisfaction. Her leadership has earned national and brand-level recognition for both her and the hotel.
A Historic Stay: The Timeless Charm of the White House Inn
Located beside Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa, the White House Inn is a charming heritage home overlooking Stewart Park.
Built by the Honourable Roderick Matheson—a prominent merchant and political figure in Upper Canada—the Georgian-style residence remained in the Matheson family until 1930. It later operated as a tea room and lodging house before becoming home to the Perth Legion in 1948. In 1965, it transitioned into the Perth Museum, cementing its place in local history.
Now thoughtfully restored as a quaint seven-room inn, the White House offers Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa guests a unique blend of heritage and modern comfort.
Its prime location beside Stewart Park and access to hotel amenities make for a truly memorable stay in the heart of Perth.
